Become a Volunteer...

Being a Picky Chick Volunteer is FUN and EASY! Most of our Volunteers are HOOKED after working one time....we always have a good time, meet new people and forge new friendships. It's like a family reunion every season! While Consignors are NOT required to volunteer, it IS encouraged! And you don't have to consign to be a Volunteer!!

The biggest reason to Volunteer is to shop the Private Sale! Volunteers get to shop before the general public during our Private Sale (and 1/2 Off Private Sale!)...which means they get first "dibs" on sale merchandise & usually this is where the best deals are found! (A few items that come to memory are the $7 Vera Bradley diaper bag, the $50 Thomas the Train with track (retail $250), the $30 Pottery Barn changing table...oh there are so many others!).

Because our Consignment Event relies solely on Volunteers, It is imperative that you show up for any scheduled shifts. If a volunteer does not show up to work his/her shift(s), any Consignment earnings will be reduced to to 50% and future participation with The Picky Chick will NOT be allowed. If you have an emergency & must miss your shift, contact Beth at 865.789.7525 ASAP.

What’s Involved?

A typical work shift is 3 hours and may include the following duties:

· Inspect, Place & Organize Merchandise during Check Ins

· Assist Customers

· Assist with Check Outs...pull tags, count items, bag merchandise, etc

· General straightening and clean up of Sales Area

· Monitor Entrance or Exit Door

· Sort Merchandise for Pick Up

Please select shifts marked HIGH priority before selecting other shifts. Note: Flyer Distribution Shifts can be performed at your own pace & if childcare is an issue for you, these shifts can be done with kids (they can help you!).
